What is deep hole drilling?
Deep hole drilling is the process of machining holes ten times deeper than the hole diameter.
The use of this process is possible in metal (from aluminum to superalloys) and has a wide range of applications in various types of industries, such as the oil and gas industry, aerospace, heavy industry, among others.
This process involves the use of BTA Drilling and Gun Drilling, with additional processes designed specifically to meet very narrow tolerance limits and allows for a high degree of precision and accuracy.
The main challenges in the use of deep drilling are the efficient use of liquid refrigerant and the removal of metal chips. Failures involve a waste of time and materials.
